Currently the most important thing you can do is to register interest in the club, after all if no one else is interested it won’t become a reality. You’ll find a form below for this purpose.
Next to signing up, we’d need to find some land adjacent to the Hudson or the Rondout Creek that will allow members to store their craft on site during the sailing season.
We recently spoke with Robert Iannucci, who owns waterfront property on the Rondout and Robert would be willing to rent us an incredible piece of land near the mouth of the Rondout. The land could probably accommodate at least a hundred vessels and has a natural launching point.
If fifty people could afford $250 a year (which breaks down to about $20 a month), that property could become our club and if we could attract more members, then the extra money would help in the maintenance of the club, training boats, safety equipment etc.
Another great spot would be on the new park near Hutton Brick and the Cement works. They have a lovely spot with a sheltered cove with a sandy beach which would be ideal for launching.
